How to create a consistent feed to get more Instagram followers.

To me, Instagram is all about 3 things: Engagement, content, and consistency. Of course, creating a beautiful feed is essential if you want to do well with the app. But if you have a business there’s more to it than just sharing beautiful pictures. Apart from trying to get more Instagram followers, ideally, you want to convert those followers into clients.

When a new user comes to your profile for the first time, they’ll very quickly decide whether they like what you post. This means you only have a few seconds (and a few images) to convince them that they should stick around and follow you.

As I mentioned before, your content is key. But before we start diving into how you can create beautiful, consistent content to try and get more Instagram followers, let me ask you a question first:

What is your “why”? Why do you have your Instagram account? What are you hoping to achieve with it? Is it to get more exposure? Is it to market a certain product or service? Is it to promote your website or blog?

Whatever it is, your “why” will ultimately influence what you post and who you attract. You want your content to be self-explanatory, showing off what it is that you have to offer but through subtle, beautiful, lifestyle photography. Nobody wants to see in-your-face, sales posts that are trying to hard sell you something.  People will follow you because they like what you post, therefore once you’ve figured out your “why”, think about what kind of content would attract your ideal client, and how to create a consistent feed.

Ok, let's get inspired! Here are 9 examples of how you can bring consistency to your feed:

1. Using dark backgrounds to create a moody theme (@Thedoozyfood):

2. Combining dark backgrounds with bright colors (@Kellygraphee):

As you can see, there are a lot of different ways to create consistency within your feed. And remember, you don't have to stick with one feed forever! Feel free to play around with different ideas until you find what works best for you. Once you start implementing a theme into your strategy, you'll be sure to get more Instagram followers in no time! The one app I'd recommend you to use to create your Instagram theme is Plann. In my opinion, it's THE best Instagram scheduler available right now. If you want to learn more about how it works, I've written a post about it here.

Do you already have a theme? Let me know your Instagram username in the comments below, I'd love to check it out!
